Benefits of having a Coach
What is a Health Coach? When people learn that I am a Health Coach, they typically then ask what that means. While the Health Coach profession has been around for over 20 years, it is a relatively young career and is only starting to be defined. A Health Coach is a knowledgeable adviser who provides guidance and support so that you can make sustainable changes to improve your health and well being. Kind of a mouthful, I know. The bottom line is that a coach is a CATALYST for change.

Why do clients come to me? My clients are smart people, REALLY smart people, but they’ve been struggling with things like keeping their weight under control, dealing with sugar cravings, relying on caffeine to fuel them through their day, or using alcohol to help them cope with things in their life. They have tried to make changes before, often going on severely restrictive regimens like “detoxes” or “cleanses.” These kind of plans may work for a short period of time, but usually they fail. That’s when they decide to seek my help.
What do I do? I help my clients get to the ROOT of the problem, i.e. Like sugar cravings, caffeine or alcohol dependence, over eating, etc. We’ll analyze and form a plan to address the root of the problem and we’ll also start adding in sustainable healthy food and lifestyle habits. This means a complete end to dieting and instead feeling great, having energy and time to focus on themselves, their families, and their work. Or, they may want to clean up their diet and lifestyle habits before trying to get pregnant so they can have a healthier pregnancy.
What kind of results can be expected? It is by no means a quick-fix or short cut to good health, but I do help my clients achieve some immediate results while implementing changes they sustain over the long-term.
